Collecting “truffle” | Civilians kil*led by landm*ine expl*osion in Al-Raqqa countryside

Al-Raqqa province: Two civilians were killed by a landmine explosion of war remnants while collecting truffle in southern of Al-Mansora city in the western Al-Raqqa countryside within SDF-held areas.

Accordingly, SOHR has documented the death of 167 civilians, including 13 women and 37 children, due to explosions of old landmines, unexploded shells and bombs across Syria since early 2023. In addition, over 196 civilians, including 53 children and five women, sustained various injuries.
The casualties are distributed regionally as follows:
• Areas controlled by Hayyaat Tahrir Al-Sham and opposition factions in Idlib: Three fatalities; including a child, and eight injured civilians, including five children and a woman.
• Regime-controlled areas: 149 fatalities, including 25 children and 13 women, and 164 injured civilians, including 30 children and three women. There are 87 truffle pickers died, including two children and ten women, and 109 others injured.
• “Euphrates Shield” area in east Aleppo countryside: Three fatality, three children, and ten injured people: a woman and nine children.
• SDF-held areas: 11 fatalities, including seven children and two men searching for truffle, and 13 injured civilians, including eight children. There is a little truffle picker among the injured people.
• “Peace Spring” area in north Al-Raqqah countryside: A child was killed and another was injured.
