Turkish drone attack | Female leader and her driver killed on today’s attack on M4

Aleppo province: Reliable sources have informed SOHR that a female leader, who was responsible for economic affairs in Kobani, and her driver were killed in the attack which was executed earlier today by a Turkish drone on their car on the M4 highway near Hamdoun village in Ain Al-Arab countryside (Kobani) in eastern Aleppo.

 

A few hours ago, SOHR sources reported that a Turkish drone attacked a car on the M4 international highway in Hamdoun village in Ain Al-Arab countryside (Kobani) in the eastern countryside of Aleppo, killing two persons who were traveling in it, but their identities remain unknown.

 

It is worth noting the area where the car was attacked is located nearly 40 km away from the border strip between Syria and Turkey, and this is the first attack ever by a Turkish drone on the M4 highway.

 

Accordingly, the number of attacks carried out by Turkish drones on areas controlled by the Autonomous Administration in north and north-east Syria since early 2023 has increased to 14. These attacks left 18 fatalities: five civilians, including a child and a woman, 11 military personnel and two unidentified persons, as well as the injury of over six others. Turkish drone attacks in 2023 are distributed regionally as follows:

 

  • Al-Hasakah: Ten attacks left four civilians, including a woman and a child, and eight military personnel dead and others injured.

 

  • Al-Raqqah: One attack.

 

  • Aleppo countryside: Three attack left three combatants, an employee of the Autonomous Administration and two unidentified persons dead.
