Following dispute over possession of plot of land | Tribal infighting leave two casualties in eastern Deir Ezzor

Deir Ezzor province: SOHR sources have reported that a young man died of the wounds he had sustained on June 5 during an infighting with his cousins in the SDF-controlled town of Al-Sha’fah in the eastern countryside of Deir Ezzor following a dispute over the possession of a plot of land. The clashes then had left two persons injured, before one of them died today affected by his injuries.

 

Accordingly, the number of infightings which followed disputes over retaliation and family and tribal disagreements in areas controlled by the Autonomous Administration has reached 70 since early 2023. According to SOHR statistics, these infightings left 43 people, including two children and two women, dead and 93 others, including five women and two children, injured; they are distributed regionally as follows:

 

  • Deir Ezzor: 53 infightings left 25 people, including two children and two women, dead and 60 others, including four woman and a child, injured.

 

  • Al-Hasakah: Seven infightings left six persons dead and 11 others injured, including a child and a woman.

 

  • Al-Raqqah: Seven infightings left nine persons dead 22 others injured.

 

  • Aleppo countryside: Three infightings left three persons dead.
