Lack of expression freedom | H*T*S’ security services assault a media activist in Idlib

Idlib province: Members of the General Security Services of HTS arrested a media activist, minutes after he filmed the protests that took place in Sarmada Square.

The members beat and assaulted him even though he showed them the press card issued by the “Salvation Government”, where they inspected all his communication devices and his gear before detaining him for four hours and insulted him.

This comes in light of the ongoing violations committed by HTS and its security service against civilians and restricting the freedom of media in HTS-held areas.

Earlier today, residents of Idlib countryside went out on protests against HTS and its violations, conforming to their demands to release the prisoners in HTS prisons, while members of the security services of HTS sieged the site of the protests near Sarmada Square.

It is worth noting that the residents continue expressing their refusal to the policy of HTS against civilians in HTS-held areas, following the arrests committed by HTS in different areas of Idlib and its countryside during the past period.
