23rd attack in 2023 | Two persons killed in Israeli strikes on positions in Rif Dimashq

Rif Dimashq province: Two members were killed in Israeli strikes on military positions in the south-west and south east parts of Damascus. However, it is not known yet if the two members were Syrians or not.

According to SOHR sources, Israeli missiles hit positions which are a few kilometres away from Damascus international highway and the surroundings of Al-Kiswa area, which destroyed a position in Al-Kiswa area and another position containing vehicles near the Damascus airport.

SOHR sources have just reported that Israeli missiles were fired on no less than three positions of the regime that contain warehouses and military positions of Lebanese Hezbollah and Iranian militias, two of which in the vicinity of Al-Kaswa in Rif Dimashq and a position in the southern area of the Syrian capital. However, no casualties have been reported yet.

It is worth noting that Israel targeted Al-Kaswa area on August 7, nearly 15 days ago.

SOHR documented 23 attacks in 2023: 18 airstrikes and five rocket attacks by ground forces, during which Israel targeted several positions in Syria, destroying nearly 52 targets, including buildings, weapons and ammunitions warehouses, headquarters, centres and vehicles. These strikes killed 59 combatants and injured 61 others. The fatalities are distributed as follows:

  • 24 members of regime forces, including two officers.

  • 22 Iranian-backed non-Syrian militiamen.

  • Six members of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC).

  • Four Iranian-backed Syrian militiamen.

In addition, those attacks left a man and a woman dead and other civilians injured.
