Amid displacement of civilians | Violent clashes erupt in vicinity of Thiban town east of Deir Ezzor in attempt by SDF to take control of it

Deir Ezzor province: Thiban town in the eastern countryside of Deir Ezzor is witnessing violent clashes in its vicinity and a displacement movement of some civilians on small boats towards the western banks of the Euphrates, while SDF are trying to advance towards it, amid the suspension of negotiations for calm, and life has returned to normal in areas that “SDF” managed to take control in the western countryside of Deir Ezzor.
At a time when life aspects have begun to return to normal in the western countryside of Deir Ezzor, the suffering of civilians continues in areas that are witnessing a military escalation and armed clashes, as civilians lack the necessities of life and face great difficulty to obtain them, such as basic materials, bread and medicines, under curfews and closure of markets and service institutions.
SOHR calls on SDF to secure the daily needs of the residents of those areas, and to take into account the humanitarian aspect, as the clashes continue for the ninth consecutive day.
Accordingly, the death toll since the beginning of the clashes on Sunday, August 27, has reached 71:
– Nine civilians, including five children and two women
– 39 of the local gunmen.
– 23 members of SDF, including five persons from Idlib in the Democratic North forces.
In addition to the injury of at least 99 people;
– 54 of the local gunmen.
– 32 members of “SDF”
– 13 civilians.
