Renewed clashes | Regime tanks attack NDF headquarters in Al-Hasakah city

Al-Hasakah province: SOHR activists have reported hearing successive explosions in the security zone in Al-Hasakah city this dawn, which were caused by bombardment by regime tanks on headquarters of the National Defence Forces. This coincided with violent clashes between regime forces and NDF, amid a state of panic residents, while tension is growing in the area.

The violent clashes comes as a part of attempts by regime forces to force the NDF leader to surrender.

Yesterday, SOHR sources reported that the leader of the National Defence Forces in Al-Hasakah city was holed up in a villa, which is one of the formation’s headquarters, with a small group of subordinated members in the security zone in the city. The most of NDF members in Al-Hasakah city have handed themselves to regime forces during Wednesday’s clashes, while regime forces threatened to storm the headquarters, in the case that the NDF leader did not surrender in hours.
