Second case in HTS-held areas | Residents find newborn girl on the road near a town in Idlib

Idlib province: Residents have found a newborn girl abandoned by her parents for unknown reasons and dumped on the junction of the road of Kalaly Town in northern Idlib countryside.

This is the second case of its kind in HTS-held areas in 2023.

Accordingly, the number of abandoned new-born babies documented in 2023 across Syria has increased to 50, where they were left in dumpsters and plastic bags in front of mosques and on the roadside; they are distributed as follows:

• Regime-controlled areas: 22

• SDF-held areas: 23

• Areas controlled by Turkish-backed factions: 3

• HTS-controlled areas: 2
