Airstrikes likely to be Israeli | Ten persons including six of non-Syrian nationality killed and injured and destruction of Iranian militia battalion in Deir Ezzor

Deir Ezzor province: Six members of non-Syrian nationality were killed, as a result of an airstrike likely to be Israeli, which targeted three Iranian militia sites yesterday evening, in Al-Hamidah area in Al-Bokamal city near the Syrian-Iraqi border, where a bridge in Al-Heri town, the military gate between Syria and Iraq and Al-Bawabah square in Al-Hamidah town were targeted.
Four regime soldiers were injured, two of which are in a critical situation, in an aerial bombardment on the area of radar battalion on the top of Harabish mountain in Deir Ezzor countryside. The targeting also resulted in the destruction of the radar post of the “Electronic Insurance Brigade” of the Iranian militias in the Harabish neighbourhood in Deir Ezzor city. It is noted that the targeted battalion includes air military forces of the regime and Iranian-backed militias.
Yesterday evening, three explosions were heard in positions of Iranian militias in Al-Hamida area in Al-Bokamal near Syrian-Iraqi borders, caused by attacks by unidentified warplanes on these positions. The extension of casualties and materials damages was not revealed.
Iranian militias are deployed near the targeted positions, where the members move from Iraq to Syria and vice versa through illegal routes.
SOHR documented 32 attacks in 2023: 24 airstrikes and eight rocket attacks by ground forces, during which Israel targeted several positions in Syria, destroying nearly 71 targets, including buildings, weapons and ammunitions warehouses, headquarters, centres and vehicles. These strikes killed 72 combatants and injured 85 others. The fatalities are distributed as follows:
• Two members of Islamic Jihadists.
• 26 members of regime forces, including two officers.
• 31 Iranian-backed non-Syrian militiamen.
• Six members of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC).
• Four Iranian-backed Syrian militiamen.
• Three members of the Lebanese Hezbollah.
In addition, those attacks left a man and a woman dead and other civilians injured.
The attacks are distributed regionally as follows:
• Damascus and Rif Dimashq: 13 attacks.
• Al-Quneitera: seven attacks.
• Hama: two attacks.
• Tartus: three attacks.
• Aleppo: four attacks.
• Al-Suwaidaa: three attacks.
• Daraa: two attacks.
• Homs: three attacks.

• Deir Ezzor: one attack.
