Days after intense escalation | UN delegation visit newly established resettlement centers in Idlib following civilian mass exodus

Idlib province: SOHR sources have reported the arrival of a UN delegation in Idlib, headed by the Deputy Regional Official for the Middle East.

This comes after the intense military escalation by regime forces, mainly heavy artillery fire on different positions in many towns and villages in Idlib, which lasted for days.

The delegation headed to resettlement centers and camps which have recently established, following the beginning of the mass displacement of civilians from villages and towns in southern Idlib towards northern Syria region. The delegation also inspected several camps within Mashhad Ruhein area in northern Idlib countryside.

Idlib city and countryside witnessed intense artillery fire by regime forces, during the past few days, which left civilian casualties.

Yesterday, SOHR sources reported that a child died of wounds he sustained four days ago in a ground bombardment of the regime forces of Ariha city in the southern countryside of Idlib. A man was also killed in a previous ground bombardment of the regime forces on Termanin area in the northern countryside of Idlib, bringing the death toll since the bloody escalation on 5 October, as a result of ground shelling of “only” regime forces to 44, including 21 children, 5 women, and more than 64 others injured.
