Assassination attempt | Unidentified gunmen throw grenade at headquarters of commander of air-force intelligence in Deir Ezzor
Deir Ezzor province: Unidentified gunmen threw a grenade at the headquarters of a commander of the air-force intelligence in Al-Jourah neighbourhood in Deir Ezzor city.
The commander and his escorts were severely injured and they were taken to a hospital for treatment, while the gunmen fled to an unknown destination, amid a state of high alert.
This coincided with the arrival of several senior officers, including the head of the military police and the head of the air-force intelligence branch, at the place of the ancient, along with blocking some roads that lead to the headquarters in Al-Jourah neighbourhood by regime forces.
This comes in light of ongoing security chaos in regime-held areas.
On October 27, SOHR sources reported that two members of the National Defence were injured in armed clashes between a patrol of the National Defence and members of the Criminal Security in Al-Muwazafin Neighbourhood within areas of regime forces and Iranian militias.
The clash occurred after the Criminal Security forces found a bag containing narcotic pills in the possession of a member of the National Defense Forces and attempted to arrest him. The clashes ended with the deployment of military reinforcements to the criminal security forces and the closure of some roads in the neighborhood.
