Military escalation | Regime soldier shot dead by sniper of Turkestan Islamic Party on frontline in Sahl Al-Ghab

A regime soldier was killed and another was severely injured, after having been shot by snipers of the Turkestan Islamic Party on the frontline of Al-Hakourah village in Sahl Al-Ghab in western Hama countryside.

 

“Putin-Erdogan” area witnesses gunfire by snipers, infiltration operation, and exchange of attacks between regime forces and factions from time to time.

 

Since early 2023, SOHR has documented 357 operations in the “de-escalation zone,” including attacks, gunfire by snipers and bombardment, which left 547 combatants and civilians dead. In addition, these operations left over 244 combatants and 185 civilians, including 21 women and 42 children, injured.

 

The fatalities can be distributed as follows:

 

  • 95 civilians, including 12 women, 36 children and a civil defence member, were killed by regime forces.

 

  • 344 members of regime forces, including 23 officers.

 

  • An Afghan militiaman of “Liwaa Fatemiyoun.”

 

  • A member of the Syrian Hezbollah.

 

  • 80 members of Hayyaat Tahrir Al-Sham, including a French jihadist.

 

  • 14 members of the jihadist faction of “Ansar Al-Tawhid.”

 

  • One member of “Ahrar Al-Sham” movement.

 

  • Two members of “Al-Sham Corps.”

 

  • One member of “Hurras Al-Din” organisation.

 

  • The Commander-in-chief of Russian Special Tasks Forces.

 

  • A militiaman of the Iranian-backed “Liwaa Al-Baqer.”

 

  • A member of “Soqour Al-Sham.”

 

  • Five members of the “National Liberation Front.”
