Military escalation | Three civilians severely injured by regime ground shelling on a village in Idlib

Three civilians were severely injured under shelling by regime forces stationed in checkpoints in the vicinity of “Putin-Erdogan” area, on Afis Village eastern of Idlib.

Earlier today, regime forces stationed in the vicinity of Saraqib City at the junction of the two International Roads “M4” and “M5”, attacked buildings of Turkish forces in the vicinity of Saraqib City, where violent clashes erupted with heavy machineguns on the frontline of Saraqib between regime forces and opposition factions, where rocket launchers were used.

Since early 2023, SOHR has documented 388 operations in the “de-escalation zone,” including attacks, gunfire by snipers and bombardment, which left 571 combatants and civilians dead. In addition, these operations left over 257 combatants and 196 civilians, including 22 women and 42 children, injured.
The fatalities can be distributed as follows:
• 97 civilians, including 13 women, 36 children, a civil defence member and a nurse, were killed by regime forces.
• 360 members of regime forces, including 25 officers.
• An Afghan militiaman of “Liwaa Fatemiyoun.”
• A member of the Syrian Hezbollah.
• 86 members of Hayyaat Tahrir Al-Sham, including a French jihadist.
• 14 members of the jihadist faction of “Ansar Al-Tawhid.”
• One member of “Ahrar Al-Sham” movement.
• Two members of “Al-Sham Corps.”
• One member of “Hurras Al-Din” organisation.
• The Commander-in-chief of Russian Special Tasks Forces.
• A militiaman of the Iranian-backed “Liwaa Al-Baqer.”
• A member of “Soqour Al-Sham.”
• Five members of the “National Liberation Front.”
