4th Division monopolizes diesel | Smuggling operations take place between banks of Euphrates River in Deir Ezzor
Deir Ezzor province: Merchants that belong to the 4th Division are monopolizing the trade of diesel, which is being smuggled through Euphrates River from SDF-held areas to areas of regime forces and Iranian militias.
Smugglers use several methods to transport diesel such as transporting through pipes via pumps, via water rafts and inside containers by dragging them with a rope under water, as these operations are more active from Al-Zaghir Jazera, Al-Jonaina, Mohaimada and Al-Hosan Villages in western Deir Ezzor countryside and through the Heart Hospital Crossing.
According to reliable SOHR sources, members of the 4th Division manipulate the prices and sell fuels for large prices to other provinces such as Damascus, Homs, Daraa and some coastal cities.
In light of the ongoing smuggling and monopolization operations, civilians pay the price of lack of diesel, where one litre of diesel costs 6,000 to 9,000 Syrian Liras.
