Amid ongoing aerial escalation | Turkish drone attacks garage in Ain Al-Arab countryside (Kobani)

Aleppo province: Turkish forces renewed their aerial attacks on positions within SDF-held area, where a Turkish drone attacked a garage in Sareen town in southern Ain Al-Arab (Kobani) in eastern Aleppo countryside. Plumes of smoke were seen rising from the targeted site. However, no casualties have been reported.

 

This comes as a part of the latest round of escalation by Turkish aircraft in SDF-controlled areas in north-east Syria.

 

Accordingly, the number of attacks carried out by Turkish drones on areas controlled by the Autonomous Administration in north and north-east Syria since early 2023 has increased to 104. These attacks left 86 fatalities, as well as the injury of over 95 others. The fatalities are distributed as follows:

 

  • 18 civilians, including two children and two women, and three civilian officials of the Autonomous Administration, including a female.

 

  • 65 combatants of military formations operating in areas controlled by the Autonomous Administration, including two commanders.

 

  • Three regime soldiers.

 

Turkish drone attacks in SDF-controlled areas in 2023 are distributed regionally as follows:

 

  • Al-Hasakah: 67 attacks left 52 fatalities: 15 civilians, including three women and two children, and 38 combatants, including two commanders.

 

  • Al-Raqqah: Three attack left no fatalities.

 

  • Aleppo countryside: 34 attacks left 27 combatants, three regime soldiers and three civilians dead.
