ISIS resurgence | Dramatic escalation of attacks in Syrian desert since early November leaves 73 persons dead
ISIS has recently dramatically escalated its attacks on positions of regime forces and their proxy militiamen in the Syrian desert, where the Syrian Observatory documented the death of 73 persons, including one civilian, in 17 attacks in different areas across the Syrian desert. Those attacks are distributed regionally as follows:
- Homs: Eight attacks.
- Deir Ezzor: Seven attacks.
- Al-Raqqah: One attack.
- Aleppo: One attack.
During those attacks, ISIS killed 69 members of regime forces and proxy militiamen, while 13 ISIS members were killed since early November in Russian airstrikes which targeted ISIS positions and hideouts.
