IS*IS resurgence | Gu*nmen target person responsible over smuggling river crossing in Deir Ezzor

Deir Ezzor province: Gunmen of ISIS opened fire directly on the house of a civilian in “Al-Hawy” area in Al-Hawayej Town in eastern Deir Ezzor countryside, in an attempt to kill him.

It is worth noting that the civilian is the owner of a money exchange store and responsible over a smuggling river crossing in Al-Hawayej towards areas of the regime and Iranian militias, where his tractor got burnt during the attack by ISIS cells.

SOHR has documented 150 operations carried out by ISIS, including armed attacks and explosions, in areas under the control of the Autonomous Administration since early 2023. According to SOHR statistics, these operations left 104 persons dead:

• 22 civilians.

• 77 members of SDF, the Internal Security Forces (Asayish) and other military formations operating in areas under the control of the Autonomous Administration.

• One unidentified man.

• Four ISIS member.

These operations are distributed regionally as follows:

• Al-Raqqah: 18 attacks left 16 combatants and three civilians dead.

• Deir Ezzor: 111 attacks left 19 civilians, an unidentified man, 45 combatants and two ISIS members, including an Iraqi commander, dead.

• Aleppo: Three attacks left seven combatants, including commanders, dead.

• Al-Hasakah: 17 attacks left nine combatants and two ISIS members dead and others
