Security campaign in Syrian Desert | Russian wa*rplanes shell Al-Sokhna and Deir Ezzor Deserts

Russian warplanes carried out airstrikes on positions sheltering ISIS cells in Al-Sokhna and Deir Ezzor Deserts. However, no casualties were reported.

This comes in light of preparations by the National Defence Forces to launch a combing campaign in Deir Ezzor Desert in search for ISIS cells, who are sheltered in positions and caves in the desert.

The Syrian Desert is witnessing an escalation in “ISIS” attacks by planting mines, launching sudden attacks against regime forces’ positions, and clashing with them.
The last attack by “ISIS” was on November 26, by planting a mine, which resulted in the causalities in the ranks of NDF, as SOHR reported that the death toll of “National Defence” members increased to eight, in an infinite toll, after a member died of wounds he sustained yesterday, in the explosion of a landmine planted by “ISIS” in Al-Shujairi village in Al-Masrab district in the western desert of Deir Ezzor, within areas controlled by regime forces and militias loyal to them.
The death toll is likely to increase, due to the presence of 14 injured members of the National Defence, some of whom are in a critical condition.
