Following death of suspects | Local gunmen attack centres of Asayish Forces and military police in western Deir Ezzor

Deir Ezzor province: SOHR sources have reported that local gunmen attacked a centre of the Internal Security Forces (Asayish) and a centre of the military police in Al-Kasrah town in the western countryside of Deir Ezzor following the death of two suspects accused of “spying for the Syrian regime” and other accusations, such as “involving in drug business,” during a raid by SDF-backed security services.

In this context, clashes erupted between the security forces and the local gunmen, where security services have been put on high alert in the region.

Meanwhile, local gunmen blocked roads in the town, amid escalating armament by members of the tribes of the two suspected.

On the other hand, SOHR activists have reported that SDF fighters stationed on the western bank of Euphrates river in Al-Shuhayl town in the eastern countryside of Deir Ezzor opened fire on areas in Baqrus town which is controlled by regime forces and Iranian-backed militias on the opposite bank, after having detected unusual movements. However, no casualties or material damage have been reported so far.

Earlier today, SOHR sources reported that security units of Syrian Democratic Forces stormed the houses of two suspects accused of “spying for the Syrian regime” and other accusations, such as “involving in drug business,” in Al-Kasrah town in the western countryside of Deir Ezzor. Clashes with light and medium weapons erupted between the two sides, which led to the death of the two suspects.
