Targeting “Hezbollah” positions | Nine Syrians working with “Hezbollah” killed and injured in Israeli airstrikes in Rif Dimashq

Two members of Syrian nationality working with the Lebanese “Hezbollah” were killed, and seven others were injured, two of them are in a critical condition, as a result of Israeli airstrikes that targeted Hezbollah positions after midnight of Friday-Saturday, in Al-Sayida Zeinab area in Rif Dimashq, where the strikes targeted a farm behind Al-Rawdah Hotel in Al-Sayida Zeinab area, in addition to another headquarters in Hujairah in Rif Dimashq. This coincided with the regime’s ground anti-aircraft missiles attempt to target Israeli rockets over the region, while ambulances rushed to transfer the killed and injured.
It is noted that this new striking is the second in less than a week, as on November 26, an officer of “Captain” rank and two regime members were injured due to Israeli shelling on a base of the Air Defence in Al-Mazza area, before an attack on Damascus International Airport that put it out of service.
SOHR documented 56 attacks in 2023: 41 airstrikes and 15 rocket attacks by ground forces, during which Israel targeted several positions in Syria, destroying nearly 115 targets, including buildings, weapons and ammunitions warehouses, headquarters, centres and vehicles. These strikes killed 104 combatants and injured 127 others. The fatalities are distributed as follows:

• 40 members of regime forces, including officers.

• 33 Iranian-backed non-Syrian militiamen.

• Six members of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC).

• Four Iranian-backed Syrian militiamen.

• 19 members of the Lebanese Hezbollah.

• Two members of “Al-Jihad Al-Islami” organisation.

• In addition, those attacks left three men and a woman dead and other civilians injured.

The attacks are distributed regionally as follows:

• Damascus and Rif Dimashq: 21 attacks.

• Al-Quneitera: eight attacks.

• Hama: two attacks.

• Tartus: three attacks.

• Aleppo: eight attacks.

• Al-Suwaidaa: four attacks.

• Daraa: 11 attacks.

• Homs: four attacks.

• Deir Ezzor: two attacks.

SOHR would like to point out that Israel sometimes targeted more than one province in a single attack.
