Arbitrary arrests | Civilians from Afrin arrested by Turkish-backed factions and their fates remain unknown

Aleppo province: A civilian from Ka’any Korak Village in Afrin countryside was arrested by Turkish-backed factions in Jarablus City in Aleppo countryside, while he was returning to his birthplace from Aleppo City.

The faction demanded 5,000 USDs ransoms to release the civilian, while his fate remains unknown.

On the same context, the fate of a civilian remains unknown, where he is from Kafradly Village in Jinderes district in Afrin countryside and works as a construction contractor, where he was arrested by Turkish Intelligence Service in Afrin City on December 3, for “dealing with the former Autonomous Administration.”

On December 6, members of civil police patrol arrested a young man from Qarzihle village in Shirawa district in Afrin countryside, on charges of performing the compulsory service during the former Autonomous Administration rule in Afrin city, in order to obtain a ransom.
In a related context, members of Al-Jabhah Al-Shamiyah faction kidnapped a young man from Al-Qahtaniyah in Al-Qamishly countryside, north of Al-Hasakah, while he was attempting to enter the Turkish territory through smuggling roads nearly ten days ago, and his fate remained unknown.
In Jarablus city, within “Euphrates Shield” area, members of the military police arrested two civilians from Al-Hasakah, while they were attempting to enter the Turkish territory through smuggling roads, and accused them of dealing with the Autonomous Administration, in order to obtain a ransom.
