Ongoing violations in Afrin | Pro-Turkey factions uproot olive trees, seize 800 others and impose levies on farmers

Aleppo province: Pro-Turkey factions continue their violations against civilians within “Olive Branch” area, including felling and uprooting olive trees and stealing olive harvest in villages and towns in Afrin, while Turkish authorities do nothing to put an end to these violations.

 

In this context, members of “Al-Hamzat” faction felled nearly 76 olive trees on agricultural land which is located between Bablyet and Ma’aratah villages, 39 olive trees in Kafer-Daly Tahtaneyah village, ten olive trees in Kawkabah village, 27 trees in Ma’aratah village, 120 trees in Faqerah village in Jindires countryside and 50 trees in Jafer-Sheil in Afrin, where all these trees are owned by civilians from the region.

 

Meanwhile, members of “Malak Shah Division” cut down 15 olive trees in Jaman village in Sharran district, belonging to a civilian from the village.

 

Members of “Al-Sham Corps” stole the harvest of 50 olive trees in Nazah village in Sharan district in Afrin countryside, belonging to a civilian from the village.

 

The members imposed a levy estimated to be three olive oil tins. 

 

Furthermore, members of the 9th Division imposed levies on olive harvest estimated to be 80 kilograms per 50 trees in Jaeya village in Rajo district. The members also seized nearly 800 olive trees in the village, belonging to a forcibly displaced civilian.

 

Similarly, members of “Malak Shah Division” imposed levies estimated to be 250 olive oil tins and money under the pretext of “guarding the fields” in Ma’abtaly district in Afrin countryside.

 

Moreover, members of “Al-Muntasir Billah” faction imposed levies estimated to be 50 olive bags, 70 olive oil tins on residents in Habu, in addition to 55 olive oil tins on residents in Shitana village and 60 oil tins on residents of Sarya village.
