Ongoing violations in “Euphrates Shield” area | Civil police arrest human rights activists in rural Aleppo

Aleppo province: SOHR sources in Al-Ra’i city in Aleppo countryside in “Euphrates Shield” area have reported that the civil police arrested a correspondent working for “Syria TV” and a photographer, while covering a protest by lawyers in front of the courthouse in the city.

Members of the civil police also beat the correspondent and the photographer and broke their equipment and arrested some media activists who were covering the protest.

It is worth noting that tens of lawyers participated in this protest in Al-Ra’i city opposing corruption of judicial authorities.

On September 11, SOHR sources reported that several lawyers staged a sit-in protest in front of the Justice Ministry building in the Syrian interim government in Azaz city in northern Aleppo countryside.

The lawyers condemned the government’s unlawful disruption of decisions, the government’s intervention in the work of The free Lawyers Syndicate Branch, and called for the independence of the civil institutions, where several activists and journalists participated in the protest.
