Ongoing security chaos | Tribal infighting erupts in western Al-Raqqah leaving four civilians injured

Al-Raqqah province: Four civilians sustained serious injuries in an infighting between Al-Boassi tribe and Al-Rawi tribe, which erupted renewed in the SDF-controlled city of Al-Tabaqah in western Al-Raqqah following earlier disagreements between the two tribes.

 

Meanwhile, tension and security disorder are growing in the region, amid appeals by residents to dignitaries to interfere to defuse the dispute.

 

Accordingly, the number of infightings which followed disputes over retaliation and family and tribal disagreements in areas controlled by the Autonomous Administration has reached 122 since early 2023. According to SOHR statistics, these infightings left 81 people, including seven children and four women, dead and 152 others, including eight women and five children, injured; they are distributed regionally as follows:

 

  • Deir Ezzor: 85 infightings left 46 people, including six children and three women, dead and 91 others, including seven woman and four children, injured.

 

  • Al-Hasakah: Ten infightings left nine persons dead and 13 others injured, including a child and a woman.

 

  • Al-Raqqah: 21 infightings left 20 persons, including a woman and a little girl, dead 42 others injured.

 

  • Aleppo countryside: Six infightings left six persons dead and seven others injured.
