Following infiltration attempt | SDF close river crossings with areas controlled by regime forces and Iranian-backed militias

Deir Ezzor province: SOHR sources have reported that SDF have closed all river crossings with areas controlled by regime forces and Iranian-backed militias in the opposite bank of Euphrates river in western Deir Ezzor countryside, following an infiltration attempt by local gunmen.

This coincided with armed clashes between members of SDF and local gunmen in Zagher Al-Jazerah town in western Deir Ezzor countryside, along with exchange of fire with mortars and heavy machineguns between both sides. However, no casualties have been reported.
On January 5, SOHR sources reported that SDF installed lighting equipment on the line of Euphrates River in Al-Shahil Town opposite to Boqros Town in eastern Deir Ezzor countryside to prevent the entry of local fighters and regime loyalists in SDF-held areas.
This comes after the escalation of attacks and infiltration operations towards SDF-held areas.
