Toll of casualties mounts | 15 combatants and civilians killed and wounded in clashes between 8th Brigade and local group in rural Daraa

Daraa province: SOHR sources have reported a spike in the number of casualties due to the clashes in Al-Yadoudah town in west Daraa countryside, where four combatants were killed: a member of the 8th Brigade, a member of the central committee and two members of “Al-Zu’bi” group. In addition, four members of the 8th Brigade and seven civilians, including women and children, sustained various injuries due to the fierce clashes which are still underway.

It is worth noting that the clashes, which erupted between a group of members of the 8th Brigade and a military convoy of the central committee on one hand, and members of “Al-Zu’bi” group on the other, coincided with artillery fire on Al-Yadoudah town.

Earlier today, SOHR sources reported that two members of “Al-Zu’bi” group were killed and two members of the 8th Brigade were injured in fierce clashes with medium and heavy weapons in Al-Yadoudah town in the western countryside of Daraa.

The clashes erupted between a group of members of the 8th Brigade and a military convoy of the central committee on one hand, and members of “Al-Zu’bi” group on the other, following accusations against “Al-Zu’bi” group of “involving in the assassination of a leader in the central committee,” who was shot dead on the highway between Daraa and Kharab Al-Shahm on December 18.
