Old ordnance | Explosion of landmine injures civilian in eastern countryside of Salamiyah

Hama province: A civilian in his fourth decade was injured due to the explosion of an old landmine in Qlaib AlThawrah farms in Salamiyah countryside, east of Hama, where he was taken to Salamiyah national hospital for treatment.
War remnants, including mines, explosive and non-explosive objects, remain a major concern among the Syrian people in various areas of control, as they continue to claim more civilian lives, in light of the failure of humanitarian organisations and the absence of the role of the concerned authorities to intervene and remove them, to reduce civilian casualties.
On January 9, SOHR reported that two children were killed and a little girl sustained serious injury by the explosion of an old landmine behind a school in Al-Jourah neighbourhood in Deir Ezzor city which is controlled by regime forces and Iranian-backed militias. The girl was taken to the hospital.
