Having been detained for 13 years | Two civilians die under torture in Saydnayah prison

Deir Ezzor province: Two civilian dead under torture in Saydnayah prison after being detained for 13 years.
The civilians hailed from Al-Mare’eyah town in eastern Deir Ezzor countryside within areas controlled by regime forces and Iranian-backed militias.

On January 11, SOHR sources reported that a political activist known as “Abdullah Madi” from Al-Quriyah city in Deir Ezzor countryside died under torture in a regime prison, after having been detained for 12 years.
“Madi” was a civil engineer and a member of the Workers’ Revolutionary Party and he had been arrested on two occasions with the first taking place in 1990, where he was imprisoned for eight years and released in 1998.
The man was arrested for the second time in 2012 with his friend in Salamiyah area by the air-force intelligence service.
