Old ordnance | Landmine explosion leaves boy injured in neighbourhood in Deir Ezzor city

Deir Ezzor province: A 15 year-old boy was injured due to the explosion of an old landmine in Al-Amal neighbourhood in Deir Ezzor city which is controlled by regime forces and Iranian-backed militias. The injured boy was taken to the hospital for treatment.

War ordnance, such as old landmines and unexploded IEDs, bombs, shells, projectiles, grenades, etc. which are everywhere in Syria, continues to pose a threat to the safety and lives of innocent Syrians. This coincides with inaction by authorities and local organisations which have exerted no efforts to remove them.

On January 13, SOHR sources reported that a civilian in his fourth decade was injured due to the explosion of an old landmine in Qlaib AlThawrah farms in Salamiyah countryside, east of Hama, where he was taken to Salamiyah national hospital for treatment.
