Old ordnance | Explosion of unexploded object leaves two children dead in eastern Rif Dimashq

Rif Dimashq province: Two children, one of them aged 13 and the other was 16 years old, were killed due to the explosion of an unexploded object of war remnants in Outayah town in eastern Rif Dimashq within regime-held area.

 

Accordingly, SOHR has documented the death of seven children, due to explosions of old landmines, unexploded shells and bombs across Syria since early 2023. In addition, 15 civilians, including 14 children, sustained various injuries.

 

The casualties are distributed regionally as follows:

 

  • Regime-controlled areas: Five fatalities; five children, and eight civilians injured, including seven children.

 

  • SDF-held areas: Two fatalities; two children, and seven children injured.
