Old ordnance | Woman and her child injured in landm*ine expl*osion in areas of regime and Iranian forces

Deir Ezzor province: A woman in her 50s and her 13 year-old son were injured, due to the explosion of a landmine of war remnants, while the child was playing with the landmine near his house in Al-Ashara City in eastern Deir Ezzor countryside within areas of regime forces and Iranian militias.

Accordingly, SOHR has documented the death of seven children, due to explosions of old landmines, unexploded shells and bombs across Syria since early 2023. In addition, 18 civilians, including 15 children, sustained various injuries.

The casualties are distributed regionally as follows:

Regime-controlled areas: Five fatalities; five children, and 11 civilians injured, including eight children.

SDF-held areas: Two fatalities; two children, and seven children injured.
