Second case since morning | New-born baby boy found in Azaz

Aleppo province: SOHR sources have reported that a new-born baby boy was found by a street in Azaz city in northern Aleppo, which is controlled by Turkish forces and their proxy factions in “Euphrates Shield” area.

It is worth noting that this is the second case of abandoned new-born babies since morning, where SOHR sources reported earlier today that a new-born baby boy was found in a remote area in Qaysariyat Salman in the SDF-controlled city of Rumailan in the northern countryside of Al-Hasakah.

Accordingly, the number of abandoned new-born babies documented in 2024 across Syria has increased to seven, where they were left in dumpsters and plastic bags in front of mosques and on the roadside; they are distributed as follows:

  • SDF-held areas: 4

  • HTS-controlled areas: 1

  • Regime-controlled areas: 1

  • “Euphrates Shield” area: 1
