Ongoing clashes | Regime officer killed in Mahajah town in northern Daraa

Daraa province: A regime lieutenant died of the wounds he sustained in the clashes which erupted earlier this morning between regime forces and a group of local gunmen in the northern neighbourhoods of Mahajah town in the northern countryside of Daraa.


Accordingly, the number of people killed in those clashes has increased to two: a regime lieutenant and a member of a group affiliated to the 8th Brigade.


SOHR sources had reported that regime forces fired tank shells on residential neighbourhoods in the northern side of Mahjah town in the northern countryside of Daraa, amid a state of panic and fear among civilians, after storming the neighbourhood by the members and shooting indiscriminately, in search for wanted persons.


Since early 2024, SOHR activists have documented 34 incidents of security disorder in Daraa province, which left 53 people dead; and they are as follows:


  • Eight civilians, including two women and three children.


  • 20 regime soldiers, members and collaborators with regime security services.


  • Four men accused of “involving in drug business.”


  • Two member of the Russian-backed 8th


  • Ten ISIS member, including a commander.


  • Seven members of local factions.


  • A regime dissident colonel.


  • One unidentified person.
