Surprise attack | ISIS cells kill two members of “Liwaa Al-Quds” in mountain area in western Palmyra

Homs province: SOHR sources have reported that two members of the Russian-backed “Liwaa Al-Quds” were killed in a surprise attack by ISIS cells in the early hours of Friday morning on a regime military positions near Jahar gas field in a mountain area in the west of Palmyra in east Homs desert. The two bodies were taken to the dispensary.

 

According to SOHR statistics, the number of fatalities in military operations in the Syrian desert since early 2024 has increased to 121; and they are as follows:

 

  • 17 ISIS members were killed by regime forces and their proxy militias.

 

  • 94 members of regime forces and their proxy militias, including 13 Iranian-backed Syrian militiamen, were killed in 43 operations by ISIS members, including ambushes, armed attacks, and explosions, in west Euphrates region and the deserts of Deir Ezzor, Al-Raqqah, Homs.

 

  • Ten civilians, including a child, were killed in attacks by ISIS in the Syrian desert.

 

Here is a regional distribution of ISIS attacks:

 

-Deir Ezzor desert: 13 operations left 29 fatalities:

 

  • 25 combatants, including seven Iranian-backed militiamen.

 

  • Two ISIS members.

 

  • Two truffle pickers.

 

-Homs desert: 23 operations left 58 fatalities:

 

  • 45 combatants, including three Iranian-backed militiamen.

 

  • 12 ISIS members.

 

  • One civilian.

 

-Al-Raqqah desert: Three operations left 14 fatalities:

 

  • 11 combatants.

 

  • Three ISIS members.

 

-Hama desert: Three operations left 17 fatality:

 

  • Ten combatant.

 

  • Seven civilians, including a child.

 

-Aleppo: One operation left three Iranian-backed militiamen dead.
