“De-escalation zone” | Four HTS members and rebels killed in attacks by kamikaze drones on Idlib and Hama countryside

The number of members of Hayyaat Tahrir Al-Sham and rebel factions, who were in attacks by kamikaze drones which were launched from regime-controlled areas and targeted different areas in the “de-escalation zone” yesterday, has increased to four.


According to SOHR source, a member of Jaysh Al-Ahrar was killed in a drone attack on a position near Al-Sarmaniyah village in the western countryside of Hama.


Meanwhile, a kamikaze drone targeted members of Hayyaat Tahrir Al-Sham, while fortifying positions on Afes frontline to the east of Idlib city, killing two.


Yesterday, SOHR sources reported that a member of HTS working as a “truck” driver was killed and two others were injured severely, after two machineries on Afis frontline in Idlib countryside were targeted by two kamikaze drones that set off from positions of the regime forces.


Moreover, another drone targeted Ma’arablit frontline in Idlib countryside. However, no casualties were reported.


Since early 2024, SOHR has documented 59 operations in the “de-escalation zone,” including attacks, gunfire by snipers and bombardment, which left 63 combatants and civilians dead. In addition, these operations left over 22 combatants and 39 civilians, including four children, injured.


The fatalities can be distributed as follows:


  • Nine civilians, including four children.


  • 34 members of regime forces, including an officer.


  • 15 members of Hayyaat Tahrir Al-Sham.


  • Four members of “Ansar Al-Islam” faction.


  • One member of “Jaysh Al-Nasr.”
