IED attack | Local gunman assassinated in Deir Ezzor city

Deir Ezzor province: SOHR sources have reported that a local gunman from Abu Hamam town in the eastern countryside of Deir Ezzor was killed by the explosion of an IED planted earlier by unknown individuals under his car in Deir Ezzor city which is controlled by regime forces, amid accusations against regime soldiers of involving in the attack.

According to SOHR sources, the hit gunman was heading to the river crossing linking regime-controlled areas and the SDF-controlled town of Al-Hesan in western Deir Ezzor in order to escort several members of his family to their houses.

On February 12, SOHR sources reported that five members of the National Defence were killed and others were injured, as a result of the clashes that erupted between local gunmen and members of the “National Defence” on the one hand, and SDF on the other one, in Al-Harmoushiyah and Al-Janinah villages in the western countryside, and Thiban and Al-Shafah in the eastern countryside of Deir Ezzor.
