De-ath toll update | civilian among three persons kil-led in Israeli targeting on Kafar Sousah area

A Syrian civilian was killed by shrapnel from the Israeli targeting of a residential apartment in Kafar Sousah area in the capital, Damascus, where he was under the building at the time of the targeting. Accordingly, the number of fatalities increased to three; a civilian, and two of non-Syrian nationality whose identity is not yet known, where they were killed in the targeted apartment, which is located near the Iranian school. It is worth noting that leaders from the Lebanese Hezbollah and the Iranian Revolutionary Guard frequent the area.
The targeting also caused injuries and material damage to the targeted apartment and the building it is located within, amid information about other deaths. This assassination is similar to the assassination of Saleh Al-Arouri, the vice president of Hamas and the movement’s leader in the West Bank, after a drone targeted the movement’s offices in the southern suburb of Beirut.
Since the beginning of 2024, SOHR has documented 13 Israeli attacks on the Syrian territory: eight airstrikes and five rocket attacks by ground forces. Those attacks destroyed nearly 31 targets, including weapons and ammunitions warehouses, headquarters, centres and vehicles.

The Israeli attacks left 31 combatants dead and 13 others injured. The fatalities are distributed as follows:

• Eight Iranian-backed Syrian militiamen.

• Four Iranian-backed non-Syrian militiamen.

• Seven members of Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps.

• Six members of the Lebanese Hezbollah.

• Three Iraqi persons

• Five unidentified persons.

In addition, nine civilians, including a woman, were killed in the Israeli strikes

The attacks are distributed as follows:
• Damascus and Rif Dimashq: Seven attacks.

• Daraa: Five attacks.

• Homs: One attack.

SOHR would like to point out that Israel sometimes targeted more than one province in a single attack
