Abandoned new-born babies | New-born baby girl found in front of mosque in Al-Raqqah city

Al-Raqqah province: SOHR sources have reported that a new-born baby girl was found Al-Raqqah city, where a woman in her twenties left the baby in front of Al-Shuhadaa mosque in the city and pretended that she was going to drink water, before she escaped.

 

Accordingly, the number of abandoned new-born babies documented in 2024 across Syria has increased to nine, where they were left in dumpsters and plastic bags in front of mosques and on the roadside; they are distributed as follows:

 

  • SDF-held areas: 6

 

  • HTS-controlled areas: 1

 

  • Regime-controlled areas: 1

 

  • “Euphrates Shield” area: 1
