Ongoing family infighting | SDF demands residents to stay in houses in Deir Ezzor

Deir Ezzor province: A boy, a girl and a disabled man of “Al-Kassar” Family were injured due to the renewal of tribal clashes with “Al-Amshan” Family in Al-Baseera City.

Moreover, a shell fired by “Al-Amshan” Family landed on a house, where different heavy weapons and machineguns were used in the clashes.

On the same context, military patrols of SDF arrived to the area and asked civilians in Al-Baseera, Al-Sabha and Abriha areas in eastern Deir Ezzor countryside, to stay in their houses, with the deployment of security patrols in these areas.

Earlier today, violent clashes with machineguns and RPG erupted between “Al-Kasar” and “Al-A’mshan” families near “Abu Baker Al-Siddiq” mosque in Al-Bassyrah city within SDF-held areas in eastern Deir Ezzor countryside, where the worshipers were stranded inside the mosque.

This coincided with a state of fear among civilians due to the ongoing clashes between the two sides since yesterday, following disputes over the possession of pigeons.

The clashes left two people from Al-Shuhayl town injured, who were hosted by “Al-A’mshan” family.

Accordingly, the number of infightings which followed disputes over retaliation and family and tribal disagreements in areas controlled by the Autonomous Administration has reached nine since early 2024. According to SOHR statistics, these infightings left five people dead and 13 others injured; they are distributed regionally as follows:

* Deir Ezzor: Six infightings left 11 people injured.

* Al-Raqqah: Two infightings left five people dead.

* Aleppo: One infighting left two people killed.
