Responding to calls for general strike | Protesters block several main roads in Al-Suwaidaa and its countryside

Al-Suwaidaa province: Today morning, protesters blocked several roads in Al-Suwaidaa countryside, in response to calls made by activists in the peaceful movement, to begin a general strike in the province today. Protesters blocked, with burning tires, Damascus-Al-Suwaidaa road, in Al-Shahba city, Al-Qanawat town road in the eastern countryside of Al-Suwaidaa, Al-Mazraah town in the western countryside and the entrance of Al-Qarayah town, in addition to one of the main roads inside the city, while they allowed ambulances and university and school students to pass.
Dozens of civilians gathered in front of the Agricultural Engineers Union building in Al-Suwaidaa city, in response to calls, to denounce the regime and its government and to reject the Baath Party’s interference in the unions.
On February 25, dozens of Al-Suwaidaa civilians gathered in Al-Karamah Square in the centre of the city, in a new demonstration as part of the continuation of the peaceful movement and uprising against the regime and its government in the province, in confirmation of the demonstrators’ demands for freedom, the toppling of the head of the regime, the political transition of power in the country and the release of all detainees in regime prisons, lifting placards with anti-regime slogans written on them.
