New attack | Israeli strikes hit military positions in Damascus’ suburbs

SOHR sources have reported that Israel forces attacked with three missiles a position of the air-defense forces and radar systems near Dummar project, four kilometres away from the extension of Dummar project in the vicinity of the capital Damascus.

This coincided with an attempt  by regime’s air-defences to intercept the missiles.

Earlier today, SOHR activists reported hearing a loud explosion caused by an attack by a drone believed to be Israeli on a truck of the Lebanese Hezbollah in Al-Nahriyah village near Hosh Al-Sayed town in Al-Qusayr countryside in south-western Homs, near the Syria-Lebanon border, which is dominated by Hezbollah. The attack left a member of the Lebanese Hezbollah dead.

On the other hand, SOHR activists reported hearing successive explosions nearby Damascus city, amid sound of explosions caused by regime air-defences, where sources suggested that the air-defences were attempting to intercept Israeli missiles.

Since the beginning of 2024, SOHR has documented 19 Israeli attacks on the Syrian territory: 13 airstrikes and six rocket attacks by ground forces. Those attacks destroyed nearly 38 targets, including weapons and ammunitions warehouses, headquarters, centres and vehicles.

The Israeli attacks left 38 combatants dead and 19 others injured. The fatalities are distributed as follows:

  • Ten Iranian-backed Syrian militiamen.

  • Four Iranian-backed non-Syrian militiamen.

  • Seven members of Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps.

  • Nine members of the Lebanese Hezbollah.

  • Three Iraqi persons

  • Five unidentified persons.

In addition, nine civilians, including a woman, were killed in the Israeli strikes

The attacks are distributed as follows:

  • Damascus and Rif Dimashq: Ten attacks.

  • Daraa: Five attacks.

  • Homs: Three attacks.

  • Al-Qunaitrah: One attack.

SOHR would like to point out that Israel sometimes targeted more than one province in a single attack.
