SOHR discloses the identities of individuals killed in Israeli airstrikes on villa in Banyas city

Tartus province: SOHR sources have confirmed that the second man, who was killed with the Iranian advisor in the Israeli airstrikes on a villa on the outskirts of Banyas city on March 1, was an Iranian too.

Meanwhile, residents in houses neighbouring the targeted villa confirmed to SOHR that the third one spoke in the Lebanese dialect. When the man rented the villa from its owner months ago, the owner was told that this person was the assistant of an oil expert, but later, after the attack, sources found out that the man was an Iranian advisor.

Accordingly, SOHR was able to verify the identities of the three dead men who were the Iranian advisor and his two escorts, one of whom was Iranian and the other was Lebanese.

The advisor worked at the radar base which is located between Daher Al-Zoubah and Al-Murqub. It is worth noting that this was the first Israeli attack on Banyas city, where many houses around the targeted villa were damaged and some civilians were injured.

On March 1, SOHR activists reported hearing three loud explosions this dawn, which were caused by airstrikes believed to be carried out by Israeli aircraft on a villa in Batraya area on the southern outskirts of Baniyas on the Syrian coastline. The villa is inhabited by a group of individuals affiliated with Iranian-backed militias.
