Ceasefire violations | Regime soldier shot dead by HTS sniper in south Idlib countryside

A regime soldier was shot dead by a sniper of Hayyaat Tahrir Al-Sham on the frontline of Jabal Al-Zawiyah in the southern countryside of Idlib.

 

This coincides with the ongoing exchange of attacks between regime forces and Hayyaat Tahrir Al-Sham, including armed attacks, gunfire by snipers, infiltration operations and attacks by kamikaze drones.

 

Since early 2024, SOHR has documented 97 operations in the “de-escalation zone,” including attacks, gunfire by snipers and bombardment, which left 99 combatants and civilians dead. In addition, these operations left over 39 combatants and 49 civilians, including six children, injured.

 

The fatalities can be distributed as follows:

 

  • 12 civilians, including four children and a woman.

 

  • 56 members of regime forces, including an officer.

 

  • 26 members of Hayyaat Tahrir Al-Sham.

 

  • Four members of “Ansar Al-Islam” faction.

 

  • One member of “Jaysh Al-Nasr.”
