Armed infighting | Injuries among tribesmen in clashes in Deir Ezzor countryside

Deir Ezzor province: Three people were injured in quarrels that escalated to armed clashes between “Al-Dandal” and “Al-Aifan” Tribes in Jazarat Bohameed Village in western Deir Ezzor countryside within SDF-held areas, due to disputes over a piece of land, where the injured people were taken to a hospital to receive proper medication amid ongoing tension and appeals by residents to calm down the situation.

Accordingly, the number of infightings which followed disputes over retaliation and family and tribal disagreements in areas controlled by the Autonomous Administration has reached 17 since early 2024. According to SOHR statistics, these infightings left 12 people dead and 46 others injured; they are distributed regionally as follows:

• Deir Ezzor: 11 infightings left two people dead and 20 people injured.

• Al-Raqqah: Three infightings left eight people dead and 20 people injured.

• Aleppo: One infighting left two people injured.

• Al-Hasakah: Two infightings left two people killed and three injured.
