Second crime within 24 hours | Man and his wife murdered in Daraa countryside

Daraa province: Residents found two bodies belonging to a man and his wife, who were killed by unknown people in their house in Qarfa village in Daraa countryside. They hailed from Masikah village in Al-Lajat area, amid accusations that a person and his children had killed them as a result of disputes between them for more than a year.
It is noted that this is the second crime of its kind during 24 hours. As four young men were killed in Mahajah town in the northern countryside of Daraa. The crime rate has remarkably increased in Daraa province since the beginning of this year, as it witnessed 24 crimes.

The Syrian Observatory has documented 81 murders in regime-controlled areas since early 2024, where domestic violence and armed robberies were behind some of these murders, while motives behind the others remained unknown. These murder crimes left 88 fatalities: five children, 14 women and 69 young and adult men. The fatalities are distributed regionally as follows:

• Daraa: 25 murder crimes left 21 men, two children and six women dead.

• Al-Suwaidaa: Eight murder crimes left six men a little boy and a woman dead.

• Rif Dimashq: 14 murder crimes left ten men, two children and three women dead.

• Homs: Ten murder crimes left ten men dead.

• Hama: Five murder crimes left five men dead.

• Al-Hasakah: Two murder crimes left two men dead.

• Deir Ezzor: Seven murder crimes left six men and a woman dead.

• Damascus: Four murder crimes left a woman and three men dead.

• Latakia: Three murder crimes left three men and a woman dead.

• Tartus: Three murder crimes left three men dead.
