Escalation of crime rate | Young man shot de*ad by unidentified gunmen in regime-held areas in Daraa

Daraa province: A young man was shot dead by unidentified gunmen in Daraa Al-Balad Neighbourhood, with no information regarding the reasons behind the attack.

It is worth noting that the young man immigrated and returned to his birthplace in Daraa City.

The Syrian Observatory has documented 82 murders in regime-controlled areas since the bingeing of 2024, where domestic violence and armed robberies were behind some of these murders, while motives behind the others remained unknown. These murder crimes left 89 fatalities, including 14 women, 70 men and five children. The fatalities are distributed regionally as follows:

Daraa: 26 murder crimes left 22 men, including seven women and two children dead.

Al-Suwaidaa: Eight murder crimes left six men, a woman and a child dead

Rif Dimashq: 14 murder crimes left ten men, three women and two children dead.

Homs: Ten murder crimes left ten civilians dead.

Hama: Five murder crimes left five civilians dead.

Al-Hasakah: Two murder crimes left two civilians dead.

Deir Ezzor: seven murder crimes left six men and a woman dead.

Damascus: Four murder crimes left a woman and three men dead.

Lattakia: Three murder crimes left three men and a woman dead.

Tartous: Three murder crimes left three men dead.
