Deir Ezzor | International Coalition and SDF conduct military drills in US base in Al-Omar oil field

Deir Ezzor province: SOHR activists have reported hearing loud explosions in Deir Ezzor countryside, which were caused by joined military drills by International Coalition Forces and Syrian Democratic Forces in the US largest base in Syria in Al-Omar oil field. The troops participating in the drills, which coincided with flights by Coalition helicopters over the base, used live ammunitions.

This comes as a part of efforts to raise combat readiness in light of the ongoing threats by Iranian-backed militias to attack Coalition bases in Syria.

On April 5, SOHR activists reported hearing loud explosions, along with firing of anti-aircraft missiles as a result of military exercises conducted by International Coalition Forces in Al-Omar Oil field base in eastern Deir Ezzor. This coincided with the flight of International Coalition’s fighter jets over the region.
