Having been arrested by Turkish-backed faction | Fate of several civilians remains unknown in “Peace Spring” area

Al-Hasakah province: SOHR activists have reported that members of “Al-Hamzat” faction which operate under the banner of the Turkish-backed “National Army” arrested five persons, including women, in the early hours of Friday morning at the soil barrier near Al-Aliyah village in the south of Ras Al-Ain in north-western Al-Hasakah. The civilians were attempting to cross into “Peace Spring” area with the aim of sneaking into Turkey with the help of smugglers affiliated to factions of the “National Amr.” The whereabouts and fate of the arrested civilians remain unknown.

 

On April 6, SOHR sources reported that two civilians were shot dead by members of Al-Hamza Division faction, where they opened fire on a group of young men while trying to enter “Peace Spring” areas to sneak into Turkish territory through the earthen berm at a high altitude area in western Tel Tamr countryside western of Al-Hasakah, where the bodies of the civilians were handed over to dignitaries in SDF-held areas.
