Ongoing escalation | Local gunmen attack three SDF military posts and others stick poster of “Al-Hafal” on shops in town in eastern Deir Ezzor

Deir Ezzor province: Local gunmen sneaked from regime-controlled areas to SDF-controlled areas across Euphrates river, where they attacked a military post of SDF in Al-Jarthi town in the eastern countryside of Deir Ezzor. After the attack, clashes erupted between the two sides, where SOHR activists have reported hearing explosions in the region. However, no casualties have been reported.

Moreover, local gunmen attacked an SDF military post in Suwaydan town in eastern Deir Ezzor with shells and machineguns, before SDF clashed with the attackers. No casualties were reported.

Similarly, local gunmen opened fire on Al-Kukh military post of SDF in Al-Tayyanah town in the same countryside, before they escaped.

On the other hand, local gunmen stuck posters of “Ibrahim Al-Hafal,” the elder of Al-Ekaydat tribe, on shops in Al-Busayrah town in the eastern countryside of Deir Ezzor.

Those attacks follow orders by the Lebanese Hezbollah and Iranian-backed militias to wreak havoc in SDF-controlled areas through launching frequent attacks by local gunmen lead by “Ibrahim Al-Hafal.”

Yesterday, SOHR sources reported that local gunmen attacked a checkpoint of SDF with machineguns in Al-Kabr Town in western Deir Ezzor countryside. However, no casualties were reported.

On the same context, members of a military patrol of SDF informed residents of Al-Shahil Town in Deir Ezzor countryside of the imposition of curfew for motorbikes until the morning.
