Amid response by “Self-defence Forces” | Local gunmen attack military post of “Self-defence Forces” in western Deir Ezzor

Deir Ezzor province: Local gunmen opened machinegun fire on a military post of the “Self-defence Forces” in Hawayij Theyab town in the western countryside of Deir Ezzor.

 

Meanwhile, “Self-defence Forces” responded to the attack by opening fire on the source of gunfire by the local gunmen.

 

No further details have been reported yet about the number of casualties and material damage caused by the recent exchange of fire.

 

It is worth noting that local gunmen launch attacks on positions in SDF-controlled areas with the aim of destabilise the region, at orders by Iranian-backed militias.

 

Yesterday, SOHR sources reported that groups of local gunmen managed to capture four members of the “Autonomous Defence” Forces in an infiltration operation by the gunmen from regime-held areas on the western bank of Euphrates River towards areas of the Autonomous Defence and SDF in Al-Baseera City in eastern Deir Ezzor countryside. On the same context, military forces of SDF mobilized in the area and near Euphrates River that separates with regime-held areas.
